Carvers' Eboards

Newly uploaded -- The Mandala Swap

The Eyes Have It! swap by Kristi Schueler (kurki)

The newbie swap another by Kristi Schueler

Eboard is a web site where anyone can create their own bulletin board with a few clicks. Several members of the Carving Consortium have them. They announced around the middle of February 2002 that they would start charging money for boards, so most CC members are going to abandon them.

Kristi Schueler suggests checking the following web sites, which as of March 2002 had free picture posting available. She writes

I was doing some research for an online class I am teaching and I found the following sites still have free photo sharing. On some I could not find how much space was available. I have only personally tried Picturetrail and Digital Fridge and I found both acceptable and not difficult to use. The others I cannot comment on.

Picturetrail 20 Mb, 50Mb with free upgrade. Christine Fitzgerald says of it,

I like PictureTrail a lot so far and would recommend it to anyone on the list.

Yahoo! Briefcase 30 Mb (total with Photos)

Yahoo! Photos 30 Mb (total with Briefcase)

ClubPhoto ? Mb (free service limits albums for only 90 days)

PhotoIsland 50 Mb

DigitalFridge ? Mb

Pictures @ Care2 ? Mb (visiting helps support environmental concerns)

Photopoint is another web site that lets you put together a gallery of pictures.
Some CC members are using it in preference to E-board:
Cathy
Kristy of TimeToStamp

... and another one is Picturetrail.

Janine has a lot of carvings on her Picture Trail album. Check the sound effects on some of the pages, and the transitions between pictures in the Japanimation section.

Wilma Schaefer she's from Germany, so remember that "geschnitzt" means "carved".

Kristi Schueler

Chris Fitzgerald

CC members, if you decide make a page for carvings on either of those,
or if you hear of another similar web site, let me know and I'll link your page (or that web site) here.

Several CC members have posted albums on the Yahoo site. Yahoo doesn't seem to realize that people scan in things other than photos, so look under "Photo albums". Membership in the Yahoo CC group and a password are required for access to these.

Some CC members have web sites that aren't on one of those picture sites:

Rubber Rabbit's home page

Ed Giecek's linocuts page ... and his watercolor and collage page

Debbie Kiest's page with portraits from photos, other carvings
